In a statement on their official Twitter page, West Ham announced that they are pleased to have the 56-year-old on board.

However, the message from Hammers fans is that they are far from pleased about having him back in the dugout in east London.

He kept the club in the Premier League when managing them between November 2017 and May 2018, but it was far from an inspiring period, as he averaged just 1.19 points per game.

This has led to a severe lack of enthusiasm about his return with one fan even tweeting “#MoyesOut”.

Who is this former West Ham player?

Fans have referenced promises of reaching the next level as a reason why the stadium move and acquisition of Moyes should not have been two things that happened to the same club.

Were West Ham right to appoint Moyes?

There were also hints that there could be protests, similar to those against Burnley last time Moyes was at the club.

In other news, a West Ham man has been slated for his shocking performance against Leicester City.
