West Ham fans finally got some good news on Tuesday morning, as a report from Sky Sports claims the club will offer Declan Rice a new contract this summer.
In a season with plenty of ups but even more downs, West Ham fans are absolutely delighted with the news that Declan Rice could extend his stay with the club.
The 19 year-old centre back has been one of the few silver linings for the club this season, having broken through into the first team.
Rice has made 22 Premier League appearances for David Moyes’ side, and will be looking to cement his place as a starter next season.
Although the youngster did make a terrible mistake in the defeat at Arsenal, he has certainly got a bright future ahead of him.
Rice has one year left on his current deal, although the club do have an option to extend it a further year.
The report from Sky Sports claim they want to do more than that though, offering the youngster a new and improved extended deal.
The special bond that Rice has forged with the fans will surely make it an easy decision for him to sign a new deal, and some of the best Twitter reactions can be found below…
