West Ham will be relatively pleased with their summer transfer window, although they’ve had something of a frustrating deadline day so far.
With their defence fairly thin on the ground, there was a lot of expectation that Sam Allardyce would bring in a defender to help lighten the load on the likes of James Tomkins and Winston Reid. But it appears that’s not going to happen with less than an hour to go before the window slams shut.
And they could be further disappointed if they fail to wrap up a loan deal for Marseille winger Morgan Amalfitano, who is at the club’s Chadwell Heath training ground trying to complete a season long loan move.
The Hammers’ chairman’s son Jack Sullivan has just tweeted that a deal for the Frenchman is still 50/50, which isn’t the encouraging news the Hammers faithful were hoping to hear so close to the 11pm deadline…
We are 50/50 to sign Amalfitano in the next hour, Will update you as soon as its done or not done
