West Ham could turn towards talented youngster Nathan Holland in their bid to get their season back on track, Claret & Hugh reports.

What's the word?

After consecutive defeats against Liverpool and Bournemouth to open the new Premier League season, Manuel Pellegrini is shaking things up in his squad as he seeks to make an impression after his summer arrival at West Ham.

Claret & Hugh state the Chilean boss has handed an opportunity to highly-rated talent Nathan Holland, who could force his way into the first-team to follow in the footsteps of Declan Rice following his meteoric rise last season.

Holland has plenty of competition for a spot down the flanks of West Ham's side due to summer signings Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko, along with veteran Scotland international Robert Snodgrass - though it is the latter who could be left sweating about his spot.

Time for a chance?

West Ham have been far too narrow in their opening two Premier League matches, with club-record signing Felipe Anderson drifting into central positions on the field and Robert Snodgrass not having the pace to cause too many problems.

Holland has the legs and pace that the Hammers appear to be crying out for, particularly in the latter stages of the matches, and Pellegrini should definitely take a punt after witnessing Declan Rice's superb rise into the first-team fold last season.

Boasting blinding speed and plenty of trickery, Holland could prove to be too hot for opposing defenders to handle and should certainly be considered as a starter for the upcoming Carabao Cup clash with AFC Wimbledon, as this weekend's trip to Arsenal is probably too big a test for the 20-year-old.
