Real Madrid are considering a move for West Ham United star Dimitri Payet in the summer transfer window, according to reports from Le 10 Sport.
Payet was only signed from Marseille last year, but the attacking midfielder has become something of a cult hero after a brilliant campaign with the Hammers.
His performances have seen him earn a recall to the France national team, get nominated for the PFA Player of the Year and be selected in the Premier League Team of the Season, which has alerted several of Europe’s elite clubs.
And not many teams are bigger than La Liga giants Real Madrid, who are looking at Payet to replace potentially departing ace James Rodriguez.
The 29-year-old only signed a new West Ham contract back in February, but he may be tempted by the lure of playing in the Champions League with Los Blancos next term.
Payet has made 38 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 12 goals and supplying 15 assists.
