Last week, reports in Spain suggested West Ham could swoop for Miguel Layun this summer, but fans are split on signing the 60-cap Mexican international.
According to Marca, the Hammers are speaking to the agents of Porto full back Miguel Layun, who has spent the second half of the season on loan at Sevilla.
The 29 year-old has four goals in all competitions this season, and his versatility and experience could be a valuable addition to the Hammers’ squad.
Of course, Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku are already at the club, but Layun can play in either full back position, and Cresswell has taken plenty of stick from fans this season.
West Ham secured their Premier League safety with wins over Leicester and Everton, but fans are of course disappointed with the underwhelming season.
There will surely be improvements this summer, but it seems plenty of fans would rather focus on the spine of the team before targeting players like Layun, with only 56 per cent of fans backing the move.
