West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for Felipe Anderson for quite some time, but over 50 per cent of fans would rather swoop for a World Cup wonderkid instead.
There have been plenty of impressive performances at the World Cup so far. Davinson Sanchez was a rock for Colombia, Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez are up to their usual tricks, and Kylian Mbappe exploded on the big stage against Argentina.
However, no one has impressed more than Mexico’s Hirving Lozano, who at just 22 is now attracting interest from all over Europe.
Barcelona have been linked with a move for the PSV speedster, while Everton’s connection through new director of football Marcel Brands has put them firmly in the race.
The Toffees are seeking a new left winger this summer, with Yannick Bolasie looking likely to leave the club and more support needed in and around Cenk Tosun.
West Ham are of course on the hunt for a new winger, and have been linked with a move for Lazio’s Anderson for what seems like an eternity.
The Brazilian has pace in abundance and a better final ball than most wingers, but Lozano would certainly give him a run for his money.
Lozano, valued at £22.5m by Transfermarkt, registered six key passes and 12 dribbles across his four World Cup showings, and the slight majority of fans would rather forget Anderson and hijack Everton’s chase for the 32-cap Mexican wonderkid.
