With the January transfer window fast approaching, West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini will be considering ways of strengthening his squad ahead of the second half of the Premier League campaign.

A serious, long-term injury to summer signing Carloz Sanchez, along with the ongoing fitness struggles of fellow new arrival Jack Wilshere, may force the Irons’ boss to bolster his central midfield contingent in the winter window.

A smart, short-term solution to this squad weakness would be for Pellegrini to reunite with Fernando, whom he first signed whilst Manchester City boss in 2014. The 31-year-old currently plays for Galatasaray, having left the Etihad Stadium in 2017.

With a Transfermarkt valuation of just £5.18 million, Fernando represents a smart target for the Hammers to pursue.

Plenty of Hammers fans seem keen on seeing Fernando reunite with Manuel Pellegrini at the London Stadium. Of those we polled, 58% voted in favour of signing the midfielder. See the full results below.
