Last week, West Ham were linked with a move for MLS sensation Miguel Almiron, but a whopping 75 per cent of fans would rather swoop for Liverpool’s Adam Lallana.
According to Ed Aarons of The Guardian, both Newcastle and West Ham are interest in Atlanta United’s Almiron, who has eight goals and 11 assists this season in the MLS.
The speedy Paraguyan, valued at £20m by his club, can play on the wing, but he is best as a number ten, where the Hammers are lacking options since Joao Mario returned to Inter Milan and Manuel Lanzini injured his knee.
With players like Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson joining though, Manuel Pellegrini needs to be careful not to cram the team with players who have no Premier League experience.
The new wing duo could work wonders with Lallana though, who could yet leave Liverpool if they bring in a direct replacement for Philippe Coutinho.
The crafty Englishman is hard-working, versatile, experienced at the top level, and three quarters of fans would rather make him their new number ten than Almiron.
