The left-back position is hardly a huge problem at West Ham, with both Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku able to play in that area, but that isn't to say it could easily be improved on.

Cresswell is close to entering his thirties and has found himself out of the team in favour of Masuaku at times this season, but even the 25-year-old is suspect defensively and is perhaps a more effective option on the left-wing rather than as part of the defence.

As a result of the aforementioned reasons, Manuel Pellegrini should be on the lookout for a long-term option in that role who can be a reliable presence at left-back for years to come.
