West Ham fans have been discussing their midfield targets, and a whopping 87 per cent of fans want to drop their interest in Mario Lemina and move for Leandro Paredes.
According to Sky Sports, West Ham are in advanced talks to send Obiang back to Sampdoria, from which he signed for the Hammers in 2015.
Sky Sports have since claimed that the Hammers would like to keep the Spaniard, but if the right offer comes in they could still be tempted to cash in.
Cheikhou Kouyate officially joined Crystal Palace this week, so if Obiang leaves as well then Pellegrini will absolutely have to move for another defensive midfielder.
The original report from Sky Sports said the Hammers are eyeing Southampton’s Lemina as Obiang’s replacement, but Paredes looks a much better fit.
The 24 year-old is one of the best passers in the world, and could be looking to prove himself in a top league after an impressive season with Zenit Saint Petersburg.
Lemina has the edge in Premier League experience, but fans much prefer the look of Paredes, as you can see from the poll results down below…
