According to reliable insider @ExWHUemployee on Episode 89 of the West Ham Way radio show, new West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen to sign Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore this summer as he looks to add some youth and pace to his team.

The 22-year-old, who could be available for £15m this summer after Boro missed out on promotion according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, had struggled for consistency with the Teesside outfit and Aston Villa previously, but he really came into his own during the 2017/18 campaign.

The attacker scored five goals and provided a further 10 assists in 34 Championship appearances, but he couldn't help Tony Pulis' men see off Villa in their play-off semi-final tie.

Meanwhile, Pellegrini is understandably keen to strengthen a squad that ultimately underperformed in the Premier League this term, and there is no doubt that the former Barcelona youth player would bring plenty of speed and direct running to the east London outfit, as well as a more consistent end product.

We asked West Ham fans to vote on our poll to see whether they thought Traore would thrive or flop under Pellegrini if he did move to the London Stadium, and a huge 79% said he would be a hit.

Whether the club and Pellegrini are willing to pay the reported £15m price tag to bring the Spaniard back to the Premier League remains to be seen.
