According to a report by Tuttomercatoweb on July 2, West Ham United are ready to launch an official offer to bring Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic to the London Stadium, and some Irons fans have been quick to react to the rumour.
New Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini is clearly keen to strengthen his squad this summer following their flirt with relegation in the Premier League last term, and that includes trying to bring big-money marquee players in.
Kovacic would certainly come under that bracket having made more than 200 appearances for Real Madrid and Inter Milan during his career, and the 24-year-old would be a huge upgrade on the likes of Cheikhou Kouyate, Mark Noble and Pedro Obiang in the middle of the park.

Some West Ham supporters, others of whom are split on whether one of their £10.8m-rated stars is good enough or not, took to social media to give their thoughts on the story, and while one said “I love this”, another said “0% this goes through”.
