It is now two losses in a row for Southampton.

The Saints hosted West Ham at St. Mary's Stadium on Saturday, and they will have been hoping that they could get a good result against a team that had won just once in their last 11 games, especially after winning their last two games at home as well.

There were plenty of disappointing performances - as you would expect from a side that is currently 18th in the table - but Nathan Redmond's was particularly abject. So much so, he was hooked off at half-time, with Ralph Hasenhuttl choosing to bring on Oriol Romeu, a defensive midfielder, in his place.

Whose Line Is It Anyway: Michael Owen, Garth Crooks or Mark Lawrenson?

The 25-year-old contributed nothing to the home side's attack during the 45 minutes he spent on the field. He managed 0 shots, 0 key passes and 0 dribbles, whilst he also failed to land the one cross he attempted as well. He also prevailed in just two of the eight duels he took part in.

Given the situation that Hasenhuttl's side are in at the moment, the former RB Leipzig manager will have been looking for a lot more from his winger. Unfortunately, it was nothing new, and it is part of a wider problem that he is currently facing on the south coast. The former Norwich City player has scored just one goal in 15 Premier League starts this term, and has failed to provide a single assist.

It is something of an epidemic throughout Southampton's forward line. Danny Ings has done fantastically, scoring nine in the league, but after that, James Ward-Prowse is the closest with four strikes - he is a midfielder. Other than him, Moussa Djenepo is the only other forward to score at all.

With January around the corner, Hasenhuttl must hope that the club's hierarchy have plans to bring in a new forward. If they expect him to keep them up, they have to give him more to work with. With many more showings like £18m-valued Redmond's - as per Transfermarkt - he has next to no chance of avoiding the drop.

In other news, one Southampton man's comments show he has taken Hasenhuttl's criticism well.
