There's little disputing the impact David Moyes has had on West Ham's season. When he took over at the London Stadium from Slaven Bilic in November, the Irons were toiling in the relegation zone and struggling to get anywhere near the best out of the club's summer signings.

Fast forward to today and the Hammers are as close to the top half as they are the drop line - three points each way - have lost just three of their last 13 in the Premier League and club-record acquisition Marko Arnautovic is firing on all cylinders.

Although the Scot is believed to have essentially earned himself a new deal already though, he's still technically a temporary appointment with his current terms due to expire at the end of the campaign. So, Irons supporters, how should the Hammers address Moyes' contract situation? Football FanCast lay out four suggested solutions...

Solution A - New deal at the end of the season

Moyes has turned West Ham's season around but it isn't over yet and the Irons are still just three points clear of safety - a few poor results and they could fall right back into the pack at the worst possible time.

With that in mind, it makes sense to stick to the original plan and only open talks with Moyes at the end of the season, allowing him to focus on the first team rather than personal negotiations and limiting the possibility of the players becoming complacent by going on their holidays a few weeks too early. Likewise, who knows what will happen in the coming weeks - if West Ham suddenly slump in form, opinions of a manager who appeared a saviour a few months ago could drastically change.

Solution B - New deal when survival is mathematically secured

Moyes' ultimate brief was to avoid relegation, so should the club hold up their end of the bargain and issue him a new contract as soon as West Ham are mathematically safe? It would honour the tacit agreement, acknowledge what has been a real achievement considering the Irons' debasing start to the season and breed a vital sense of stability heading into the summer transfer window, with no doubts over who will be in charge at the start of 2018/19. It would also give Moyes at least a few extra weeks to plan for next season and make judgements on which players will and won't be part of his long-term plans.

Solution C - New deal now

While the season and West Ham's survival bid may be far from over, there's certainly a case to argue that Moyes has already proved himself. Regardless of the Premier League table, few would bet on the east Londoners suffering a shock relegation come the end of May. And handing Moyes a contract now might even be what gets them over the line in the survival scrap; it shows the board are backing the manager and the team, and should settle some nerves as West Ham enter the make-or-break portion of the season.

That being said, it could have the opposite effect by subliminally suggesting West Ham have done enough already this term, causing the players to switch off. This squad is still marred by inconsistency, which seems to stem from players losing focus at key moments.

Solution D - Hire someone else in the summer

Moyes has no doubt done a great job since taking the reins from Bilic but let's not forget why West Ham have upped sticks and moved to the London Stadium - the owners' primary objective was bringing regular European football to east London.

Moyes achieved UEFA qualification intermittently during his time at Everton, but he's probably not the kind of young, ambitious and inventive manager who can take the Irons to a whole new level - a steady Eddie rather than someone who is going to revolutionise the club.

It would seem an incredibly harsh decision to part with Moyes, but the club must come first and there are still doubts over what West Ham's maximum potential is with the Scot at the helm.
