Big Sam certainly won’t be disappointed with the efforts of summer signing Adrian between the sticks for West Ham this season; the Spaniard has kept five clean sheets in ten Premier League appearances since taking over goalkeeping duties from Jussi Jaaskelainen.
But the Hammers could still do with an upgrade at No.1, and when it comes to potential availability on the transfer market this summer, it’s hard to look past Celtic’s Fraser Forster.
The Buoys’ stars are leaving Celtic Park thick and fast – Gary Hooper, Victor Wanyama, Kelvin Wilson and Joe Ledley have all left the Scottish Champions this season – and with a host of Premier League suitors on the horizon, it’s believed the England international could be next.
The 25 year-old has kept a sensational 17 clean sheets in 28 league appearances this season and conceded just 14 times. Last month, Forster set a new Scottish top flight record after breaking Bobby Clarke’s previous feat of not conceding in 1,155 minutes of league action.
Measuring in at 6 foot 7, the Celtic No.1 would be a good fit for the Hammers. He’s also an incredible shot-stopper, as shown in last season’s historic Champions League clash with Barcelona, and is now blooded at international level with the Three Lions.
The tabloids believe he could leave Celtic Park for around £8million in the summer, which is well within West Ham’s financial reach.
