West Ham have experienced a difficult first half of the season. The Hammers are currently sitting just above the relegation zone and struggling to recapture the form that had them so high up the table last season.

Slaven Bilic is under pressure but is likely to have the backing of his bosses in the January transfer window.

The window offers Bilic the chance to re-energise his squad with some fresh faces and perhaps ship out some of his weakest performers this season.

Some of his summer signings haven't panned out as hoped, so there's no room for error this time or a relegation battle could be looming in the New Year.

We reckon West Ham have a fair amount of money to spend on bringing players to the London Stadium so it will be interesting to see how they recruit.

Here are our picks for THREE players in and THREE players out next month at the Irons...

Daniel Sturridge isn't getting as much game time as he'd like at Liverpool and a move to West Ham could be exactly what he needs to revitalise not just his season, but his career.

Make no mistake, he's still a fine player, but he's been a misfit this term under Klopp and has failed to score in the Premier League so far.

With 57 goals in 102 appearances for the Anfield side, Bilic wouldn't need to worry about this striker finding the net.

Out: Sofiane Feghouli

Sofiane Feghouli

One of Bilic's summer signings that hasn't quite worked out, Sofiane Feghouli doesn't look like he's going to make the grade at West Ham.

He hasn't started a single Premier League match and has only featured for 131 minutes off the bench.

He was signed with a big reputation having made over 200 appearances for La Liga giants Valencia but he's shown nothing worthy of that notoriety.

Perhaps West Ham should seek to look for an early exit before he fades out of peoples' minds further. Freeing up some wage money wouldn't go down badly either considering he barely features for the team.

In: Asmir Begovic

Asmir Begovic

The former Stoke goalkeeper has struggled to find his way into Antonio Conte's first-team plans at Chelsea and if he's looking for regular football, the London Stadium may be the place to get it.

Neither Adrian nor Darren Randolph have covered themselves in glory this season and have both cost Bilic points.

Those are points West Ham can't afford to lose in the second half of the season and Begovic would be an excellent addition if he's willing to leave Stamford Bridge. It's unlikely he'll be usurping Courtois anytime soon.

Out: Diafra Sakho

Diafra Sakho

West Ham can't afford to have first-team players on the sidelines in such an important season and Sakho's recurring injuries kept him out for most of the season so far.

He did score against Manchester United but to keep him at the London Stadium runs the risk that he will only pick up an injury again.

It's looking increasingly unlikely he will ever hit the form that made him such a fans' favourite in 2014/15. With a number of strikers at the club failing to score, Bilic may have to find his ruthless streak and locate another club for the Senegal international to move to.

In: Matteo Darmian

Arsenal's Theo Walcott in action with Manchester United's Matteo Darmian

West Ham could badly do with a quality recognised right-back to slot into Bilic's first-team and in Matteo Darmian they would get exactly that.

Darmian has struggled to fit into Mourinho's first-team plans and could be a player on his way out of Old Trafford if the Man United boss decides to make wholesale changes in January.

The Italian international has plenty of experience and ability and could be just what Bilic needs to add some stability to his backline given the back three system he's been using hasn't exactly been effective.

Out: Simone Zaza

Simone Zaza

We're not sure of the terms of Zaza's loan deal from Juventus but if there's any possibility of West Ham ending it early in January they should look into it.

Zaza was a summer signing many thought could be an excellent one but he's looked woeful at times for the Irons, dropping out of first-team plans rapidly.

Having not started a game since October, he's taking up vital resources on the wage bill that could be better used elsewhere in attracting real quality to the London Stadium.
