Maxi Gomez scored his 12th La Liga goal of the season in Celta Vigo’s 1-1 draw with Espanyol on Wednesday night.
The 22-year-old was strongly linked with a move to West Ham United during the January transfer window.
But he ultimately remained in Spain.
There are once again rumours that the Hammers could reignite their interest this summer, with their attack certainly an area that needs improving ahead of the 2019-2020 campaign.
A West Ham fan account on Twitter pointed out that Gomez was once again on the scoresheet for Celta on Wednesday night.
That led to a number of the club’s fans commenting on the Uruguay international, who has also previously been linked with Barcelona.
Pl>ymaker FC’s Matchday with Max caught up with Jamaica’s women’s team. See what happened when he met the history makers in the video below…
There are those who are keen for the centre-forward to arrive this summer, but others believe that their side will be unable to get the deal done.
A selection of the Twitter reaction can be seen below:

Are they safe now then.
There’s no way we sign him if they don’t relegated

If they get relegated and he’s available for £25m he’ll have a lot more teams to choose from.

And won’t be coming here so why bother mentioning it…might as well keep tabs on Ronaldo , Messi and Bale as mor chance of colonising the moon than landing any A listed players
