After Liverpool had huffed and puffed to a 1-0 win at Sunderland, missing a host of chances along the way, the debate about the club’s striker situation once again came to the fore. While Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert have just one league goal to their names, former hit-man Andy Carroll is in decent form now he’s fit again over at West Ham… and he scored an absolute blinder against Swansea to prove that he could, probably, walk back into the Reds’ XI.
The burly former Newcastle man swivelled, shimmied, moved with supreme grace and them dispatched a stunning effort against the Swans to look every bit the £35m striker he was deemed back in 2011. Best goal of the season? It could be up there… according to Piers Morgan!
Andy Carroll just scored the goal of the season. Not a sentence I ever thought I’d write. https://t.co/Le2gpVzWl8
