West Ham after star forward freebie

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is plotting to solve his striker issues with a free move for out-of-contract attacker Nene, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The Hammers slipped to a thumping 4-0 FA Cup loss at the hands of West Brom over the weekend, capping what has been a relatively underwhelming 2015 after the highs of the first half of the campaign.

One issue to face ‘Big Sam’ in recent weeks is the injury to Andy Carroll, with the powerful forward’s absence having reduced his options ‘up top’

Now Nene is seen as an option to help the Irons in the final third, with the Brazilian available for nothing outside of the transfer window after being released by Al Gharafa last month.

The ex-PSG man had been in Qatar for two years – scoring 20 goals in 43 outings – and elected to cancel his deal with the Middle Eastern club in a bid to return to Europe.

The 33-year-old is thought to have been talking to clubs across the continent, but West Ham are said to be at the front of the pack.

Nene is s skilful attacking midfielder who can also play up front.
