West Ham are “getting close” to making a “couple of signings”, according to co-owner David Gold.
The Hammers have been active in the transfer market already this summer, snapping up the likes of Gokhan Tore and Sofiane Feghouli as they look to build on an impressive 2015/16 campaign.
Although multiple additions have been made, West Ham remain in the hunt for a new striker and are chasing a number of left-backs following Aaron Creswell’s knee injury, and Gold has taken to Twitter to reveal that deals are close:
“Couple of signings getting close, hope to have some news soon.”

One of the two signings appears to be Argentine striker Jonathan Calleri.
The Sao Paulo ace, who is registered to Deportivo Maldonado but owned by third party investors, revealed live on TV that his switch to east London is basically done.
The identity of the other addition remains unclear, but Swansea’s Andre Ayew is a mooted target.
