According to the Mirror, West Ham are considering a January move for free agent Samir Nasri as Manuel Pellegrini looks to reinforce his midfield options ahead of the second half of the season.
After serving an 18-month ban for contravening doping laws, the Frenchman is allowed to sign for a new club in the new year and could be set for a shock return to the Premier League.
Pellegrini knows the former Manchester City man well having worked with him at the Etihad Stadium between 2013 and 2016 and sees the playmaker as a solution for the Hammers’ squad depth issues – Manuel Lanzini, Andriy Yarmolenko, Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez are all sidelined with injury.
The Daily Mail report that the 31-year-old would demand £5m a year from the London club for his services, or just shy of £100k a week.
Here’s how West Ham fans reacted to the surprising rumours on Twitter.

Bit late in his career and obviously if we’re interested he’ll get top money and be injured more than not.
I think we should be looking for the youngsters to come through be it from the academy or elsewhere

Leave it. I don’t want him anywhere near our club.

Haven’t seen him play since he turned out for Sevilla a couple of years ago – the trouble is, he’d already regressed to testimonial pace then! – Best swerved.
