West Ham eye Swansea goal-getter

West Ham are plotting a summer move for Swansea attacker Michu after coach Teddy Sheringham recommended the Spaniard, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The Silky Swans forward missed most of last season through injury, but his 2012/13 form for the South Wales club earned him much praise.

Signed for just over £2m from Rayo Vallecano, Michu netted 19 goals in his debut campaign at the Liberty Stadium, which was enough to earn him a call-up and appearance for Spain despite the wealth of talented option the country possess.

Sherringham has recently been drafted in by Sam Allardyce in a bid to aid the club’s desire to play more attractive football, and the former Manchester United man believes that the versatile goalscorer would be a wise addition.

The Hammers may act on his advice by mounting a £6m offer, yet it remains unclear as to whether or not Swansea will accept.

The 28-year-old barely featured last season, which came as a blow to the club with he and Wilfried Bony having been expected to fire up a lethal partnership.
