West Ham face battle for Juventus striker

Juventus striker Fabio QuagliarellaWest Ham will have to see off interest from Wolfsburg and Fenerbahce if they are to sign Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella this summer, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The Premier League side are said to be interested into the Italian star, who is set to leave the Turin giants at the end of the season.

With Fernando Llorente already having agreed to join Juve, and speculation surrounding a move for Luis Suarez in overdrive, Quagliarella appears to be surplus to requirements at the Old Lady.

West Ham are keen to take advantage of this, and bring in a big name player with vast levels of top flight and international experience.

With Andy Carroll’s future in doubt, manager Sam Allardyce is said to be to weighing up other options.

The 30-year-old could add another dimension to the Hammers’ sometimes predicable attacking methods, with his feisty playing style and all-round technical ability.

But, both Wolfsburg and Fenerbahce are also interested, and could rival any move made by the Londoners.

It’s unclear as to whether Quagliarella would be interested in moving to Upton Park, but he could be tempted by the opportunity to play in the Premier League, having spent his entire career in Italy.
