West Ham Face Competition For German Striker

West Ham are set to go head to head with German club Freiburg to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Daniel Ginczek in the summer, according to talkSPORT.

The Hammers have made no secret of their desperation to sign at least one striker in the summer and have been monitoring Ginczek this season as the German under-21 international has been popping in the goals on loan at St Pauli.

A big money summer deal for on loan striker Andy Carroll is nowhere near finalised and with Carlton Cole, Marouane Chamakh and Wellington Paulista all set to leave Upton Park at the end of the season, Sam Allardyce will be left with just one first team forward.

The mid table Premier League new boys have been linked with a whole host of attacking options in the summer but Ginczek along with Andy Carroll and Wilfried Bony have been the long term targets for Allardyce.
