West Ham United broke their transfer record when they brought Issa Diop to the London Stadium during the summer window.
Diop is believed to have commanded a transfer fee in the region of £22m following three impressive seasons in the first team at Toulouse.
The 21-year-old has been an ever-present for the Hammers this term, and it has been reported that Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain both like him very much.
There is no question that Diop has been impressive for West Ham this season when considering that it is his first taste of English football.
Diop does not turn 22 until January, and there is every reason to believe that he will go from strength to strength over the next few years.
The West Ham fans have a very high opinion of the France Under-21 international, and many have been on social media lavishing praise on him once again.
A selection of the Twitter reaction can be seen below:
He’s proving to be a great signing. So this just goes to show the club should install a philosophy of signing young hungry up and coming players. Not players in their 30s which more often than not hasn’t worked, Zabaleta aside. Do this and we can build a successful team.
