Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Declan Rice's contract situation at West Ham United as they consider a swoop for the teenager, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Rice will see his current deal with West Ham expire at the end of next season, and it is understood that the two parties are still some way off in terms of an agreement.

Indeed, Rice is still on £3,000 a week at the London Stadium, and has already rejected an offer in the region of £15,000 a week, if reports are to be believed.

The 19-year-old reportedly wants a deal in the region of £35,000 a week, which is probably not too much to ask when considering his form this season.

However, West Ham are continuing to play a dangerous game, and there is a very real possibility that the Hammers could lose the Republic of Ireland international.

It really would be some story if Spurs took Rice away from the Hammers, but it is not something that the West Ham fans want to think about at the moment.
