West Ham fans are split on whether Manuel Lanzini should get new deal

According to reliable West Ham United club insider @ExWHUemployee on Episode 78 of the West Ham Way radio show, attacking midfielder Manuel Lanzini wants to stay at the club and sign a new contract, and Irons fans are split on whether he deserves one.

The 24-year-old has needed to step up to the plate ever since the departure of Dimitri Payet in January 2017, and he has scored three goals and provided a further six assists in 21 Premier League appearances this season, missing nine games because of injury and suspension.

The east London outfit are amidst a relegation battle right now, and they will be looking to the Argentina international, who says he is confident they will stay up, to provide a spark when they host fellow strugglers Southampton at the London Stadium on March 31.

West Ham supporters were quick to have their say on whether Lanzini deserves a new and improved deal on the one that is due to expire in 2020 via social media, and they were divided.

While one said “Lanzini is class”, another said “I’d sell him in the summer”.
