Joao Mario spent the second half of the 2017-18 Premier League campaign on loan at West Ham United, and scored twice in 13 appearances for the Hammers.

The Portugal international was then in action at the 2018 World Cup, but was deemed surplus to requirements at Inter Milan ahead of the new season.

Mario has not been included in Inter's Champions League squad, and has also not played a single minute of Serie A football for the club this term.

A number of teams were linked with a loan move for the midfielder during the summer, but it is understood that Inter only wanted a permanent sale.

The situation might well change in the January transfer window due to Mario's lack of football, and the West Ham fans have been discussing a potential return.

It would be fair to say that the West Ham supporters are split when it comes to 40-time international Mario, with a number struggling to agree on whether he should return.
