West Ham fans have been reacting to a statement from owners David Gold and David Sullivan, and let’s just say they aren’t keeping their hopes up.
It’s been a long and painful season for West Ham fans, climaxing in the absurd scenes at the London Stadium during the 3-0 loss to Burnley.
Luckily for David Moyes and the Hammers, the season ended on a positive note as wins against Leicester and Everton meant the club ended the season in 13th, deceptively far from the drop zone.
Despite some decent performances scattered in and around some very uninspiring ones, fans are already fearing the worst for next season, and they don’t believe a word of the statement left by David Gold and David Sullivan in Sunday’s match programme.
The owners have come under plenty of criticism for their empty promises and poor business in the transfer market, as well as the infamous move to the London Stadium.
Writing in Sunday’s programme, Gold and Sullivan said: “The expectations of the club are far greater and that is certainly the case looking to next season. This summer we are determined to get things right and will leave no stone unturned.”
Fans are clearly not convinced, and some of the best Twitter reactions can be found below…
Should have ended the statement after the word leave…..

We don’t believe a word. You have totally lost our faith and only actions….the right actions of bringing in a World Class Manager who has freedom to build his squad with no interference from you lot will be accepted now.

Excellent. First thing to get right is selling the club. Bye bye but don’t need another season of the three stooges
