West Ham United were thumped in the English Premier League on Saturday, losing 4-1 away to Liverpool.
There weren’t many positives to take from the Hammers’ performance, slipping to a three goal deficit before mustering a response through Michail Antonio.
It was always going to be a difficult afternoon up against the attacking threat of Jurgen Klopp’s outfit, but fans were unhappy with the manner of defeat and performance, believing David Moyes could have been more pro-active in achieving a result or at least managing to avoid a thrashing.
They had particular issue with the non-selection of Javier Hernandez and Moyes’ failure to make substitutions earlier, with the full three subs not used until the 83rd minute.
Now just three points above the relegation zone, there’s real pressure on the Irons heading into the last ten games of the season. Can Moyes put this heavy defeat behind him and inspire more positive results in the weeks to come?
Supporters took to Twitter to share their thoughts…
Moyes has done well so far, but that heavy defeat was entirely on him today. Antonio scores, we’re back in the game, and everyone can see that we need to bring a striker on. He waits 15mins, no change, then we concede again. Completely nonsensical #whufc

Why did Moyes think today was a good day to field 3 slow defender's in evra, Collins and zabaleta against a pacey front 3 in Salah, mane and firmino #WHUFC

Good thing Moyes waited till we’re down 3 and there’s 4 mins left to put in our hottest goal scorer. #WHUFC ⚒☹️

Absolutely disgraceful decision to drop Hernandez today.
Moyes' personal vendetta against him is ruining our chances of winning games or competing at least.
What a c*nt.#WHUFC

As much as I rate Moyes. Matching cress with Salah was a massive mistake, Collins looks off the pace too, need to bringing in Reid and rice to partner ogbonna. #COYI

Hands down Liverpool are the best team in the PL going forward. No chance today, although Moyes got it tactically wrong. Still in trouble

Moyes got the team selection very wrong today. However, can’t help but feel the treatment of Hernandez is more personal than professional by Moyes. He has to start against Swansea next week in what is now a season defining game for the club; hence we need the best striker playing
