West Ham fans have been reacting to a report that Joao Mario could join the club permanently this summer, and fans are completely split on the Portuguese international.
According to Calciomercato (via West Ham News), West Ham are “in talks” with Inter Milan over the permanent transfer of Joao Mario.
The 25 year-old earned a move to Inter after the European Championships in 2016, where he impressed in the title winning Portugal side.
After struggling to really make an impact at the San Siro though, the midfielder moved to East London on loan in January.
Having grabbed two goals and one assist in ten Premier League starts, Mario has certainly showed flashes of his potential brilliance since the loan move, but fans aren’t completely convinced about keeping him.
The wiry midfielder, who has one goal in 33 Portugal caps, has put in some great performances with the Hammers, most notably in the 2-0 win at Leicester to secure survival, but his inconsistency has clearly been an issue.
Fans have been discussing the reports on Twitter, and you can find some of the best reactions below…

Loan with obligation to buy if he plays agreed amount of games by end of season – I fear if we don’t get him, someone else in pl will benefit next season
