West Ham fans caught singing derogatory chant about Spurs star

West Ham United are the latest club to come into controversy over offensive chanting following their 2-2 draw with Tottenham in the Premier League last weekend.

A video (below) has emerged of Hammers fans chanting “Harry Kane, he talks like a mong!” to confirm reports that such singing had taken place at White Hart Lane.

The Guardian reports that former Republic of Ireland international Kevin Kilbane has already referred West Ham to the FA over the language that was derogatory and insulting towards those with learning disabilities. Kilbane has long been an advocate for greater awareness of this issue after his daughter Elsie was diagnosed with Down’s syndrome.

The Football Association has promised a thorough investigation into allegations made against West Ham United fans during Sunday’s game, according to the Guardian, and it would appear that this video provides pretty damning evidence.

The video is the latest bring controversy on the game after footage emerged from Paris showing the Chelsea fans chanting: “We’re racist, we’re racist and that’s the way we like it”.
