West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini has reportedly decided that Aaron Cresswell will be a key part of his first XI next season.

Cresswell actually registered seven assists in 36 Premier League games for West Ham last term, but it would be fair to say that his form was hit and miss.

Indeed, the Englishman faced criticism from West Ham fans during the season, and it had been suggested that the 28-year-old could lose his spot under Pellegrini.

However, it is being reported that the defender will be the first pick at left-back, and the West Ham fans have been reacting to the news.

It would be fair to say that the fanbase have differing opinions, with a number believing that Cresswell is certainly the club's best left-back. However, there are plenty who feel that the Liverpool-born ace is not actually that good when it comes down to it.

It is certainly an interesting debate, and it will be fascinating to see whether Cresswell keeps his spot in the team as new signings continue to arrive.
