Currently in his second spell at West Ham United, experienced centre-back James Collins is closing on 200 league appearances for the Hammers.

The former Wales international initially represented West Ham between 2005 and 2009, before joining Aston Villa, where he was to spend three years.

Collins, who is valued at £1.4m by transfermarkt.co.uk, returned to the Hammers in 2012, and he has scored seven times in 143 appearances for the London club over the last six campaigns.

It would be fair to say that the 34-year-old is one of the most popular players with the West Ham supporters due to his personality and no-nonsense style of defending.

Collins will be out of contract at the end of this season, however, and he has admitted that West Ham are yet to contact him over a new deal.

It is clear to see what the West Ham fans think about the situation, with a large number calling on the board to hand the Welshman a fresh contract.
