West Ham United are making steady progress heading into the January transfer market, as news emerges Samir Nasri has impressed club bosses.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City star has been working with the Hammers as he nears a return to football following his 18-month doping ban.
He will become eligible to play in the New Year, and the London Stadium outfit became early contenders for his signature when his former manager, Manuel Pellegrini, opened the door for a move.

Discussions initially stalled when the 31-year-old requested a £95,000-a-week contract, before a decision was made for the player to prove his worth in training.
In the past, Nasri has shown himself to be a gifted individual with quick footwork and the ability to change a game, but often let his side down through his work ethic.
The emerging news from West Ham’s training ground, however, suggests that this is no longer the case as the Frenchman has impressed the Claret and Blues with his attitude and willingness to lower his wage demands to £60,000 p/w.
Pellegrini has been a long-term admirer of the attacking mid, and Nasri’s attitude has certainly impressed these Irons fans…
Why not, get him in, a new LB & get Declan rice tied down I’d be a very happy hammer. Anyone who is on here saying Nasri isn’t class is chatting ass. Certified baller. Trust Pellegrini, he will get him sorted! A striker is not a priority for but would be a bonus ??⚒

This is starting to excite me, after a sceptical first reaction to this. Especially given our current form. A fit Wilshere in there somewhere, why can’t we push to win something this or next year?

Nasri on a free
Clyne on loan
Loftus-Cheek on loan
I’d be very happy with that if we can also get another international loan I’d try for Joao Mario or Barbosa ?

He is proving himself in training he is liked by the team he is willing to take a pay cut he is eager to play for us…..yet some are still moaning! 60k pw for a play of Nasri’s ability is nothing nowadays.

the fact he is willing to take a pay cut is proof his attitude has improved. It’s the ‘impressed with his ability’ bit that is important. He has always been an excellent technical footballer, it’s just whether he had lost it during his ban, clearly he hasn’t. Get him in.

If his attitude is right, as it was under MP at City we will have one hell of a player on our hands! He is perfectly suited to the right football played around the box we have been improving on lately! At £60k a week on a free this could be a bargain!

I really believe West Ham struck gold by getting Pellegrini, if they decide to sign nasri I think that’ll be a very good signing

I’ve definitely warmed to the idea of Nasri signing for us now. Sounds like he’s impressed in training so let’s see what he can do in the 2nd half of the season. (Assuming he signs)
