West Ham United signed Ryan Fredericks during the summer transfer window, with the 25-year-old joining on a four-year contract from Fulham.

Fredericks has started three of West Ham's five Premier League matches this season, but was not included against Everton at the weekend.

Pablo Zabaleta actually started at right-back against the Toffees, and the Argentine put in a fine performance as West Ham recorded a 3-1 win.

Fredericks started his professional career at Tottenham Hotspur, but never made a Premier League appearance for the capital outfit.

The 25-year-old has time on his side as he looks to become a regular with the Hammers, and the club's supporters have been on social media discussing his form.

There are plenty who feel that Zabaleta is the superior player, and many are hopeful that Fredericks will ultimately learn from the former Manchester City defender, who has bags and bags of top-flight experience.
