West Ham fans don’t want summer swoop for Flint

West Ham fans are not impressed by the latest transfer links, as reports claim they are eying a move for Aden Flint.

According to reports, West Ham have “enquired” about the availability of Bristol City’s Flint.

The towering defender, who would likely cost in the region of £9m, scored nine goals last season for the Championship club.

The Hammers have already been linked with moves for Swansea duo Lukasz Fabianski and Alfie Mawson, so are clearly not afraid to shop for bargains in the second tier.

One would have to think Flint is an alternative to Mawson, who is more technically gifted than the Bristol City man.

While Flint may not be the perfect fit for Manuel Pellegrini’s style, he is one hell of a defender, and uses his colossal 6 ft 6 frame to be a threat at every set piece.

Winning over five aerial duels per game last season, along with over six clearances and one interception per game, Flint would bring muscle and leadership to the heart of the Hammers’ defence.

Fans are not too convinced by the links to the huge defender though, asking for more ambition from the club to get them to the “next level”.
