West Ham have moved to tie down one of their most loyal and dependable players this week as they extend Mark Noble's stay at the London Stadium until summer 2021, ensuring that the midfielder will continue to hold the armband for the foreseeable future.

The Hammers have taken up the option to increase Mr West Ham's deal - which he signed back in 2015 - by one year and, should he remain in claret and blue until the expiration of his contract, this will see that he reaches an impressive 17 years with the club.

Joint-Chairmen David Gold and David Sullivan spoke very highly of the academy product, saying, “He embodies everything that the fans love about West Ham and he will forever be associated with our Club".

However, with talks over a new contract for Declan Rice stalling, some Irons fans are furious that the club have taken priority of Noble over the player who is widely regarded as their most exciting young talent - indeed, the 19-year-old has become a key component of Manuel Pellegrini's side this year as he makes 13 league appearances and surely attracts interest from the Premier League's big hitters.
