There is one thing that football supporters in general cannot stomach from players who earn thousands of pounds per week, and that is a lack of effort.

West Ham United suffered a 4-1 defeat at home to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, and the London club's captain Mark Noble claimed after the match that 'there was nothing' that the players could have done due to City's excellence.

Football pundit Alan Shearer highlighted West Ham's lack of effort during the clash with the Premier League champions, and it would be far to say that Noble's comments have not gone down too well with the club's supporters.

West Ham are still very much in a relegation battle at this stage of the season, and another defeat to Leicester City this weekend would leave them in a dangerous position ahead of their home game against Manchester United next week.

Noble, who is said to be on £50,000 a week at the London Stadium, might not have thought too much about his comments following the City clash, but the West Ham supporters were left absolutely furious.
