West Ham fans are absolutely gutted to miss out on Joao Mario, as it looks like the Portuguese international is going to join Wolves.

Wolves have moved into heavy favourites to land Inter Milan’s Mario after an Italian journalist claimed talks are on-going between the two clubs.

“Joao Mario could be on his way to Wolves on loan from Inter Milan,” claims Stefano Orabona, and SkyBet have now moved the Premier League newcomers into just 2/1 to seal the deal.

The versatile Portuguese international earned his move to the San Siro after a brilliant Euro 2016 campaign, but was slightly less impressive at the World Cup this summer.

Still, the 25 year-old has a lot to offer, able to play in a variety of midfield positions with great energy and a good eye for a pass.

The 40-cap star would join up with a whole host of Portuguese players at Wolves if the move goes through, and West Ham fans are gutted to miss out.

The Hammers were heavily linked with a return for the Inter star, after he played an important role in staving off relegation during his short loan stay last season.
