David Moyes’ West Ham United side had enjoyed a weekend results elsewhere went their way in the relegation battle.
Relegation rivals Southampton and Stoke both lost out to North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham respectively and that allowed the Irons to face reigning champions Chelsea as something of a free hit.
Joe Hart’s inclusion and Javier Hernandez’s exclusion did not necessarily please West Ham fans prior to kick off but the England international kept his side in the game at times and it was the Mexican poacher who got Moyes out of jail with an emphatic finish in the second half to rescue a 1-1 draw and edge ever closer to safety.
Chelsea’s current low confidence rendered them unable to mount a troubling response so all that was left to do from a West Ham perspective was celebrate an unlikely draw and call on Moyes to start Hernandez – valued at £16.2m by Transfermarkt – every week…

Chicharito is from Mexico. I'm from Texas. Therefore, we're basically family.

This should be an indication to get Hernandez in the first team where possible every week.
That was one hell of an important goal in the grand scheme of things
