Adrian made his first Premier League appearance of the season in West Ham United's 2-1 defeat at Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

The 30-year-old has been forced to play second fiddle to Joe Hart during the 2017-18 campaign, but with Hart ineligible to face his parent club at the Etihad Stadium, Adrian was handed the gloves.

West Ham suffered another defeat to leave themselves firmly in the bottom three, but there is no question that it was a much-improved performance from the Hammers.

Adrian was a key part of West Ham's display, with the Spaniard making a string of impressive saves during the 90 minutes.

Hart will be available for the clash against Chelsea on Saturday, but West Ham fans are desperate for Adrian, who is valued at £4.5m by transfermarkt.co.uk, to retain his position in the team.

Indeed, a number of the club's supporters have insisted that it should be a straightforward decision to send Adrian onto the field once again.
