According to the BBC, Chelsea have been handed a transfer ban for the next two transfer windows by FIFA, following a breach in regulations regarding the transfers of young players.

Apparently, of the 92 deals investigated, the Blues were found guilty of having broken rules in 29 cases. The west London club have also been hit with a £460,000 fine, whilst the FA have been charged £390,000 for their role in the issue.

The Stamford Bridge club have said that they’ll appeal the ban, but in case their pleas fail, Maurizio Sarri must now begin planning for life at Chelsea with only the players he already has.

This news comes as a major blow to Chelsea, who have an ageing squad and appeared to be on the precipice of a major rebuild with the Italian coach in charge.
