Lots of West Ham fans have taken to Twitter after watching their former keeper Adrian win the UEFA Super Cup for Liverpool, and have expressed their delight at their former No.1's achievement.

The Spanish glovesman left the Hammers at the end of last season after his contract expired having found himself behind Lukasz Fabianski in the pecking order, before the Reds picked him up on a free transfer to replace Simon Mignolet in the summer window.

The 32-year-old may not have been expecting to start many games with Premier League Golden Glove winner Alisson Becker in between the sticks, but after an injury to the Brazilian on the opening day against Norwich City, Adrian has already made two appearances for the Merseysiders.

The former Hammer was the surprise hero in Istanbul for Jurgen Klopp's side, saving a penalty from Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham in the shootout to win a fourth Super Cup for Liverpool despite arriving as a No.2 just under two weeks ago.
