West Ham eased their way into the fourth round of the Carabao Cup by smashing eight past Macclesfield Town on Wednesday evening, securing the Hammers’ biggest win since 1983.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have enjoyed an upturn in form during recent weeks, having beaten Everton and held Chelsea to a goalless draw, with the victory over the League Two side extending their unbeaten run to three matches.

The Hammers name a strong side for the match at the London Stadium and the result ended with six of the outfield starters finding the net, which included a brace from Scotland international Robert Snodgrass.

The 31-year-old has proven himself to be a valuable asset so far this season under Pellegrini, having impressed on loan with Aston Villa last season, and his career with the Hammers has completed a significant u-turn after he was previously deemed to be an outcast.

His two goals against Macclesfield are a testament to the improvements he has made in recent months and Hammers fans on social media were delighted with his display. We have gathered some of the best reactions below.
