According to reliable West Ham United club insider ExWHUemployee on Episode 99 of ‘The West Ham Way’ radio show, striker Andy Carroll is ahead of schedule on his latest return from injury and Irons fans have been quick to react to the news.
The tall centre forward has been plagued by injury issues ever since he moved to the east London outfit from Liverpool, and it was announced last month that he – as well as Winston Reid – would be absent for the beginning of the campaign because of an ankle problem.
However, ExWHUemployee says that the 29-year-old is making good progress and could be back in action in November, although the London Stadium faithful already seem to have run out of patience with a player who faces a tough task to even get into the squad given Manuel Pellegrini has Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez, Jordan Hugill and Xande Silva to select from.
West Ham supporters, who have demanded Pellegrini bring a Slaven Bilic buy back into the starting XI vs Bournemouth, took to social media to give their thoughts on the injury update, and while one said “Carroll hopefully fit to sell in Jan”, another said “this is classic Carroll timing”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…

Get Carroll healthy then and keep him healthy to be able to sell him in January.
Have to cut your losses at this point. Too many injuries to ever be able to count on him.

Carroll should just leave. Do the right thing for westham and walk away!! He has wasted a few years of our lives going on holiday and partying with his wages basically doing nothing for the club! Sell him , give him away , spend wages on someone who will actually kick a ball

We should keep Carrol he’s got in the air! Tall. Just needs to stop getting injured @AndyTCarroll

This is classic Carroll timing. Every year. Back from injury in autumn, scores a few goals, someone thinks about buying him in Jan, then BANG….injured again and out for the rest of the season.

Lanzini should be eased back considering his injury, don’t want to be seeing him in Jan, end of feb hopefully. Carroll hopefully fit to sell in Jan
