West Ham United captain Mark Noble says he and his teammates will do all they can to give the London Stadium faithful something to shout about when they host Burnley in the capital on Saturday, and Irons fans were quick to react to the comments from the midfielder, who is rated at €7m (£6.3m) according to Transfermarkt.

The east London outfit come into the clash against the Clarets on the back of successive 4-1 defeats on the road against Liverpool and Swansea City, which has left them three points above the relegation zone with nine matches of the season remaining and in desperate need of a positive result against Sean Dyche's men.

The previous loss against the Swans last weekend was particularly disappointing given Noble had issued another rallying cry before the game, with a number of the players putting in below-par displays on the day.

West Ham supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the quotes from the club's skipper about giving them something to cheer, and while one said "blah blah blah….. about six months late", another said "that will make a change".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
