According to Sky Sports, West Ham United have reportedly been told that Russia captain and Krasnodar striker Fyodor Smolov wants to join them this month, and Irons fans have been quick to have their say on the rumour.

Sky Sports says that the 27-year-old is keen to move to London from the Russian Premier League before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month, with the Hammers potentially looking to bring him in if they sell Diafra Sakho.

The centre-forward would certainly arrive at the London Stadium with an impressive goalscoring record as he has netted 59 times in 90 games for Krasnodar, while he has 11 in 28 caps for his country and will skipper them at their home World Cup this summer.

West Ham supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the story, and while one said he is "just what we need", another said they "would love this signing to happen".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
