According to Sky Sports, West Ham United’s attempts to sign Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder Javier Pastore have been thwarted by his £190,000-a-week wage demands, and Irons fans have been quick to react to the rumour.
Sky Sports report that the east London outfit and manager Manuel Pellegrini are keen to bring the Argentina international to the London Stadium in a £17.5m deal, and while they remain in talks for the 28-year-old the money he wants could put paid to any potential transfer.
Pastore joined PSG from Palermo in 2011, and he has gone on to score 45 goals in 265 appearances in all competitions and won the Ligue 1 title on five occasions.
West Ham supporters, the large majority of whom want Pellegrini to break the club’s transfer record on 25-year-old star, took to social media to give their thoughts on the latest update on the attacker, and while one said “I don’t even want him anyway”, another said “we’re not Man U or Chelsea”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
I don’t even want him anyway, we can use the wages for Carvalho and Mario

£190K a week is ridiculous, we’d be mad to consider paying that

If you want big players you need to pay big wages.

Despite some cash now being provided to MP we’re not Man U or Chelsea etc. We can’t afford that sort of money for wages. That’s fair enough.

Why is anyone surprised!! Same old story. Linked with stars but it never happens!! Yet we all fall for it

Is a good old ”we tried” what to expect regarding Pastore and Anderson? Good to see some things never change with these owners ?
